Tuition and Fees

Statement

Tuskegee University regards the experience which a student receives in handling his/her financial affairs as an important educational outcome of residence at the University. All students are urged to meet this responsibility promptly or to make arrangements for payment to avoid being asked to withdraw and have their registration canceled. If it becomes necessary to cancel registration, a fee of $25.00 must be paid for reinstatement within seven working days of cancellation. Payment will not be accepted after this period.

The Business and Fiscal Affairs Office provides, without charge, a deposit service which students may use for the safekeeping of money. Cash, certified, travelers's, cashier's checks, and money orders payable to the student may be placed on deposit with the Cashier in the Business and Fiscal Affairs Office and a "white" receipt will be issued for the same. Whenever the student wishes to withdraw a portion of the funds, he/she must present a valid Tuskegee University identification card. If a balance is left, a white receipt will be issued for that amount.

Funds resulting from financial aid in excess of all charges and fees may be withdrawn by the student upon approval of Financial Aid. At no time will a student be allowed to withdraw cash on his account if there are no funds available and if there is an outstanding balance.

Veterans of the Armed Forces of the United States, who are studying under Chapter 31 of 28 U.S. Code, have their educational expenses paid to the University by the Veterans Administration. These students receive directly from the Veterans Administration, each month, a check for their living expenses. Tuskegee University does not extend credit for living expenses nor make any advances for personal expenses to veterans. These students are urged to make arrangements before coming to Tuskegee University to finance themselves for approximately three months.

Admissions Application Fee: This fee is required of each new student who applies for admission. The fee is not a deposit, nor is it refundable. The amount of the fee is $35.00.

Fee Sheets: A Fee Sheet is available in the Office of Business and Fiscal Affairs. Additionally, a student may request a copy of the fee sheet by contacting the Dean of Graduate Programs.
