Want to help, but don't know how? Here is some information that will help...
You can make a difference in the lives of future generations of TUSVM students by sending your tax deductible gift. How about sending it now because there is no better time than right now. The best gift you can give is a gift that helps others. The numerous ways to give fit into two categories: current and planned (deferred) gifts.
Current gifts include:
* Cash -- Most often in the form of a personal check made payable to
Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM);
*Securities -- Which if held 12 months or more may be transferred to
TUSVM without being liable to capital gains tax;
*Property, real and personal ; and
*Matching gifts -- More than 1,000 corporations will match the gifts of their employees.
Planned gifts include:
*Bequest -- A charitable gift through your will to TUSVM will reduce your estate taxes.
*Gift annuity -- Make a gift to TUSVM and receive the benefits of a lifetime income and a charitable tax deduction.
*Charitable remainder annuity trust or unitrust -- Transfer cash or other assets to a trustee who manages the trust and pays the beneficiaries for life or for a specified time. Upon the termination of the trust, the remainder passes to TUSVM.
Benefits include an income tax deduction, avoidance or delay of capital gains, and an estate tax reduction.
* Life insurance -- With TUSVM as the owner and beneficiary of your policy the annual premiums are tax deductible.
* Life estate -- Gain tax benefits by transferring your home now to TUSVM and retain full possession of the property of your lifetime.
