1. Impaction:

occurs at three prominent sites:

a. The cecocolic junction.

b. The pelvic flexure.

c. The junction between right dorsal colon and transverse colon.

Impaction of ingesta is a common cause of equine colic.

2. Intussusception:

Invagination or infolding of the ileum and part of the jejunum into the cecum. It can also cause colic.
