Large Intestines of the Ruminants

1. Cecum:

The cecum is a blind tube that extends caudodorsally from the ileocolic junction along the right flank. Its rounded blind end commonly lies at the right side of the pelvic inlet. The cecum is attached dorsally by a short cecocolic fold to the proximal loop of the colon. It is attached ventrally by the ileocecal fold to the ileum.
