Congratulations to the following award recipients during the Annual Recognition Exercise held Friday, April 27, 6:00 p.m., at the Tuskegee University Chapel: Research Award - Dr. Liz Simon (Biomedical); Service Award - Dr. Jannett Lewis-Clark (Allied Health); and Teaching Award - Dr. Dennis Anderson (Pathobiology).

Congratulations to Dr. David McKenzie, Associate Professor (Dept of Large Animal Medicine and Surgery- Clinical Sciences), for being selected to serve on the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) panel of external peer reviewers for the 2012 cycle of the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program. This panel reviews applications and recommends awards to serve veterinary shortage areas and help applicants with their veterinary loan repayments.

Congratulations to Mrs. Monica Benson, Administrative Coordinator for Office of Student Affairs and Facility Management, on receiving her Master’s in Counseling degree from Faulkner University. She graduated on May 4, 2012. Mrs. Benson previously received a Master’s in Adult Education and Training from Argosy University on March 1, 2012.

For the Month of May only…TUSVM is working with the Alabama Horse Council and providing Equine Castration Clinics to the public at $60/stallion. The event is serving as a teaching tool for large animal veterinary students under the supervision of trained, licensed large animal clinicians.
