Occupation Therapy at Tuskegee University Goes All Digital

by Anissa L. Riley

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (Nov. 22, 2013) - The Tuskegee University Occupational Therapy (OT) Department goes all digital! “The OT students are truly excited to show off their tablets where the e-books are downloaded,“ said Jannett Lewis-Clark, allied health department head and interim occupational therapy program director.

“The OT program is the first on campus to use all e-books now with the students in the Class of 2015. This is exciting because going digital will allow our students to physically lighten their load a little while still allowing the material needed to meet the demands of the curriculum to be achieved,“ said Lewis-Clark.

The School of Nursing and Allied Health at Tuskegee University prepares students to work in a variety of health care settings to include community health, government, industry, hospitals, forensics, and research. Established in 1892, the Tuskegee nursing program is the oldest baccalaureate program in Alabama. The Occupational Therapy and Clinical Laboratory Sciences programs were both established in 1979.

The School of Nursing and Allied Health offers undergraduate programs leading to baccalaureate degrees in nursing and medical technology and the entry level master’s in occupational therapy. These programs are designed for students who wish to pursue a career in nursing or the allied health profession. The nursing and allied health professional disciplines are accredited by their national accrediting agencies.
