TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF VETERINARY MEDICINE HOSTS SECOND ANNUAL RESOURCE FAIR
by Anissa L. Riley
TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY, AL -- The Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (TUSVM) is hosting its Second Annual Veterinary Resource Fair (formerly called Drug Fair) on September 21, 2007, from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM at the Veterinary Medical School complex in Patterson Hall. The event is designed to inform veterinary students and teach them how to interact with pharmaceutical company representatives. "The event will also emphasize how important it is for the students to understand how very helpful these representatives can be to them in their clinics once they are practicing veterinary medical doctors," said Starr Miller, Pharmacist in the Department of Clinical Sciences at TUSVM.
Several pharmaceutical companies have been very supportive of the School of Veterinary Medicine at Tuskegee University through the past years. They have sponsored various lectures, medical presentations, student events, and the veterinary medical symposium- - one of the major continuing education events held at Tuskegee University annually.
"We are looking for this year's Fair to be even bigger and better than last years. Events such as this benefit both the TUSVM students and faculty as well as the drug companies because it allows both parties an opportunity to have additional exposure to one another in a friendly environment," concluded Miller.
Display space is available. Anyone wishing to participate needs to contact Starr Miller at (334)727-8154 or e-mail at starrtuskegeerx@yahoo.com. Display tables are $100 per table (up to four tables) and set up time is 8:30 AM on September 21.
