WELCOME to the Tuskegee University Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. The Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital is an extension of Tuskegee University’s School of Veterinary Medicine that offers a variety of services to the local community and surrounding areas. It is comprised of the Department of Clinical Sciences, which consists of Small and Large Animal faculty, staff, and medical services.
Since accepting its first class in 1945, the School of Veterinary Medicine’s goals have remained unchanged. The goals are to offer comprehensive preventative medicine and wellness programs, treat diseases and injuries, relieve suffering and manage pain, and to provide compassionate, personalized care for clients and patients.
The mission of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital continues to be a commitment to providing an environment that promotes and nurtures independent and self-directed learning in areas of small and large animal medicine, surgery, radiology, community practice, and herd health management. Students are provided educational opportunities that meet or exceed accepted standards of excellence in clinical veterinary medicine. The skills and educational experience gained during their clinical training will provide the necessary background for a successful career in the practice of veterinary medicine, research, industry, public health, and governmental programs.
