Tuskegee College of Veterinary Medicine,
Nursing and Allied Health Gets New Research  Associate Dean

        Tuskegee, AL -- Dr. Tsegaye Habtemariam, Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health (CVMNAH), recently appointed Dr. Cesar D. Fermin as the new Associate Dean for Research and Advanced Studies.  He earned his PhD in 1981 in Biological Sciences Electron Microscopy from the FIT in Melbourne, Florida.  
        Dr. Fermin’s main responsibilities include coordinating the following:  biomedical research, advanced studies (degree programs and non-degree advanced studies such as postdoctorals, visiting scholars, etc.), CVMNAH participation in the PhD program in Integrative Biosciences\, seminar courses and series, distance education/learning, continuous education/learning, assistance in the RCMI program, serving as a Bioinformatics team member, and teaching selected courses.  
         Prior to joining the Tuskegee family, Dr. Fermin was a member of the faculty at Tulane University Medical School from 1988 to 2005.  At Tulane, he was a member of the Department of Pathology and Director of Morphological Services, Ultrastructural Pathology and Pathology Informatics.  Dr. Fermin also is advisor on health and science matters to the Universidad Technologica de Santiago (TUESA) in the Dominican Republic.
