Position Description
Associate Dean for Administration and Resource Development
This position is located in the Office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health, Tuskegee University. The incumbent serves as the principal assistant to the Dean for all matters pertaining to the administration of the Centers of Excellence (COE) Grant and for College Advancement planning and implementation. The major responsibilities of the Associate Dean for Administration and College Advancement includes:
- Administration of the School’s Center of Excellence (COE) Grant. This is a multimillion-dollar grant that the TUSVM competes for and receives every three years as mandated by federal legislation in 1985-1986.
- Prepare COE Grant budgets for assignment to subproject directors
- Ensure that the COE Grant Objectives are met by the deadlines
- Prepare COE Grant annual progress reports in accordance with the guidelines specified in the grant application
- Develop instruments required to collect data necessary to assess the accomplishments made under the OE Grant
- Prepare renewal of COE Grant applications
- Plan and oversee Resource Development and Partnership building activities
- Serve as the liaison for university-wide Resource development activities by working closely with the Office of University Advancement
- Serve as the liaison of the CVMNAH with the Association of Minority Health Professions Schools (AMHPS)
- Provide planning and oversight for Emergency Preparedness
- Be involved in the School’s Minority Recruitment Program
- Collaborate with the appropriate Associate Deans to develop a systematic plan for building space allocation, building maintenance and other real estate holdings assigned to the School of Veterinary Medicine
- Serve on School and University committees
- Represent the Dean on external committees and at meetings both on and off campus
- Teaching courses in his/her discipline
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION
The incumbent will carry out his/her duties under the broad guidance of the Dean and with a minimum level of supervision.
