Veterinary Epidemiologist

Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Nursing and Allied Health (CVMNAH) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position for an epidemiologist in the Department of Pathobiology.  This is a full-time, 12- month, tenure-leading track appointment (in Epidemiology/Public Health/Microbiology) at the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. The candidate should have earned the DVM or equivalent degree.  The PhD or equivalent degree is required in epidemiology or a closely related field.  Preference will be given to the candidate with relevant experience in the practice of Public Health (EIS, State, Military, University} disease control and food safety.

Duties will include participation in team-taught courses in (Epidemiology, Public Health, Microbiology Food Safety) and related disciplines for veterinary and graduate students. Clinical rotations in the microbiology laboratory providing service and student instruction will be encouraged.  The individual will be expected to develop a strong, independent or collaborative research program in his/her area of interest.  The successful candidate will advise and mentor professional (DVM) and graduate students, have a leadership role in developing and implementing a public health tract for veterinary students and a program for the MPH degree.  The appointee should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with other faculty and staff in a team oriented effort.
